Islas Del Maize Boa
Corn Island boas are found on two islands 52 miles out from Bluefields Nicaragua, habitat on the islands is mostly sand with palms. The islands are now a national park, only one export of 21 animals was ever permitted,so these boas remain very rare, mine were produced from parents imported from the USA by my late friend Clive Osborne, probably from Vin Rousso or Gus Rentfro. The adults passed to Ian Bennet who sucessfully bred both pairs, adult females reach 5feet while males are shorter and much more slender.
These boas are highly arboreal,so height and climbing facilities should be provided if possible, though I keep them sucessfully in racks.
All in all a very interesting insular dwarf boa, which will no doubt gain popularity as more breedings occur.
